According to the U.S. Census Bureau the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area had the largest increase in population this past year bringing the total to 7,399,622.
This was a 146,238 change year over year from July 1 2016 through July 1 2017.
“Historically the Dallas metro area attracts large numbers from both international and domestic migration. Many of the other largest metro areas in the country rely mostly on international migration and natural increase for growth” said Molly Cromwell a demographer at the Census Bureau.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area beat out many heavy contenders in metropolitan area gains in population taking number one over the Houston/The Woodlands/Sugar Land area Atlanta and also Phoenix. The Dallas-Fort Worth area has many reasons why people are relocating there including a booming job market business opportunities and plenty of great new communities to facilitate the population influx that makes the DFW so very attractive to those looking to move.
